Elsa and Gretchen von Nelson are beautiful 2 year old German Shepherd sisters. We got a call from one of the high desert shelters asking if we could help these two sweet girls.  They had been found tied up outside a K-9 training center, and the center could not keep them so they had brought them to the shelter.  The girls rode nicely in our volunteer’s SUV and just settled right in for the long ride back.  Elsa put her head on the up turned seat by the driver side and would occasionally give our volunteer a soft kiss on the check as if to let her know that she was happy to be on her way to a new and better life.  Both girls have beautiful black and red coats with what is known as ticking along their backs instead of the more common solid saddle.  They were very good with all the new dogs and people they met at the kennel where they are boarded.  They walk well on a leash and know how to "sit" and "down".  They will bond with their new family very quickly as they were very concerned about where our volunteer was going when she walked away from them and they got all excited when they saw her come back.  These girls are very attached to each other and we would like to place them together.  They are the sweetest girls and would fit right in with any family.  Come and meet Elsa and Gretchen and see for yourself what wonderful girls they are.
